52nd Fighter Wing
7/13/2010 - SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany --
Name: Staff Sgt. Timothy Franseen
Unit: 703rd Munitions Support Squadron
Duty title: NCO in charge custody forces training
Hometown: Kokomo, Ind.
Years in Service: 5 years
Why joined: I joined to serve my country.
Family: Wife, Tech. Sgt. Vanessa Franseen, and my baby girl, Alessia
Hobbies: Triathlons, marathons and family time
Favorite aspect of job: Camaraderie and teamwork amongst all the different career fields at a MUNSS.
Most memorable Air Force experience: My flight in the F-16 Fighting Falcon
Favorite part of F-16 flight: Pulling G's
Previous flying experience: None
What award earned the flight: 52nd Fighter Wing Airman of the Year
Description of experience: It was a very physically demanding hour. However, I still got to see a lot of awesome sites, the castles along the Rhein and Mosel rivers, the rolling hills, and another F-16 flying right next to me. The pilots make it look easy, but it's not. I gained more respect for fighter pilots in a single hour than I have in five years.
