52nd Fighter Wing
4/16/2010 - SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany --
Name: Staff Sgt. Mohammed Haroon
Unit: 704th Munitions Support Squadron, Ghedi Air Base, Italy
Duty title: Production Supervisor
Hometown: Queens, New York City
Years in Service: Six years
Why I joined the Air Force: I joined the Air Force for multiple reasons. First and foremost, I joined to experience the military life. The place where I was born and raised not too many people get to experience life like the military does. I wanted to travel around the world, and I got a chance to do that while being stationed at Ghedi. Another reason I joined was to make something of myself and to do something my mother would be proud of.
Family: I just recently married and we are expecting our first child in September 2010. I have one older brother, Isaac, and our mother, Parveen.
Hobbies: My number-one hobby is sports, whether it be playing or watching. I am a diehard Knicks fan. I also enjoy working out and listening to music.
Favorite aspect of my job: My favorite part would be when customers finish their meal and come up to say it was the best meal they have had.
Most memorable Air Force experience: I do not have any specific memorable experience, but my deployments to Qatar, Iraq and Afghanistan were great experiences.
Why I make responsible choices: I strive to live up to the faith that Air Force has placed in me by representing my country with Honor.
