National Police Week kicks off with SFS displays

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Joshua Thompson, son of Chaplain (Maj.) Daniel Thompson, 52nd Fighter Wing Chapel, hits Senior Airman Adam Crane, 52nd Security Forces Squadron trainer, during a combatives training demonstration for National Police Week outside the Spangdahlem Commissary May 14. The 52nd SFS put on multiple demonstrations such as military working dog capabilities, weapons and combat vehicle displays and taser demonstrations to give spectators an insight into various aspects of security forces capabilities. National Police Week is held annually during the week of May 15 and honors all law enforcement members who have died. National Police Week events continue this week with an annual ruck march around the base May 16 at 10 a.m. and the defender decathlon May 17 beginning at 9 a.m. on Perimeter Road here.
