School is out, summer is in, Spangdahlem has plenty to offer for Saber children of all ages.

The 52nd Force Support Squadron youth programs provides great opportunities for children and teens during the summer time with camps, trips and other activities at cost.

The program serves two different sections: the teen center and the school age program.

The teen center offers great opportunities for teens 9-18 years old to get out with others their age and enjoy the summer.

"Our overall goal is simple: we're trying to get the youth engaged into the events that we have going on," said Thomas Williams, 52nd Force Support Squadron middle school teen coordinator. "Were not just trying to get them involved but also teach them life skills."

With video games, game boards, playing outside and going on trips, teens who hangout at the teen center don't just stay there. They can also attend multiple camps sponsored by the center over the course of the summer.

Additionally the SAP supports younger children ranging from kindergarten to 12 years old.

"The overall goal is to give kids a great opportunity to experience things that they might not otherwise have a chance to," said John Smith, 52nd FSS youth programs director. "We provide care in a safe place for dependents of active duty and civilian employees so they can perform their mission."

There are weekly themes SAP follows and children can attend trips to places like Mandershied castle, and Eifel Park.

The teen center is open Monday-Friday from 1-6:30 p.m., and the SAP is open Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
