Police maintain security by random inspections
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Adrienne Neuburger, 52nd Security Forces Squadron dog handler and native of Weiser, Idaho, instructs her military working dog, Joice, to search the engine-well of a vehicle before it is allowed entrance to Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, Sept., 9, 2014. Joice searched the car before an entry controller performed a more in-depth search of the vehicle. Police dogs use their sense of smell to detect explosives, drugs or other harmful substances.
