Why joined: I joined the United States Air Force to become an officer and hopefully have the opportunity to fly the A-10.
Family: Wife, Erica Kaercher; father, James Kaercher; step-father, Gregg Knox; mother, Peggy Kaercher; step-mother, Melinda Tzu; brother, Capt. Daniel Kaercher; and sister, Pamela Kaercher
Hobbies: My hobbies include baseball, fly-fishing, fly-tying, camping, hiking and backpacking
Favorite aspect of job: The ability to directly affect the battlefield and those on it.
Most memorable Air Force experience: My most memorable Air Force experience was being commissioned and sworn in by my older brother, (then) 1st Lt. Dan Kaercher.
