Saber Spouse 1 nominated for spouse of year

Mara Wight, wife of 52nd Figher Wing Commander Col. Tip Wight, has been nominated for the Military Spouse of the Year award.

Mrs. Wight has been a military spouse for 26 years. In the past year, she has contributed more than 1,600 hours to 52nd FW activities, generated U.S. Air Forces in Europe's first Spouses' Calls and spouses' wing Web site, and created a program aimed at assisting spouses with transitioning from a professional career in the U.S. to a different role while stationed in Germany.

Those wishing to support Mrs. Wight in her nomination for spouse of the year can vote for her at http://www.msoy.milspouse.com/. All are eligible to vote, and voting ends Feb. 10.

Votes will determine which of the top 25 nominees will represent their respective branch in the finals. One winner from each branch will be chosen.

The five branch winners will be announced March 1.
