Name: Staff Sgt. Victor M. Estupinan

Unit: 52nd Dental Squadron

Duty title: Dental laboratory craftsman

Hometown: Cali, Colombia

Years in Service:
Eight years and nine months

Why joined:
I come from a military family and always wanted to join the service. Initially, I wanted to join the Army. After talking to friends, I decided the Air Force was a better choice.

Family: Wife, Marjory; mother, Siria; and brothers, David and Pedro

Hobbies: I enjoy traveling, going out, computers, researching, music, movies and spending time with my family.

Favorite aspect of job: I really enjoy military traditions. I would say my favorite part of the job is when I am performing an honor guard detail or helping civil engineer squadrons with escort duty, and other military activities.

Most memorable Air Force experience: I went to Honduras for a humanitarian mission in 2007. Our job was to study how iron deficiency affected the local community, and we also provided medical examinations. I have never seen so many people appreciative that the American forces were coming into their community.

How do you make responsible choices: The things that pop into my head when it comes to responsible choices are my wife, finances, retirement, rank and future. After all of that comes into my mind, I think the responsible choice is not a hard decision to go with.
