Ready for Anything: Rapid Response in Action

U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 52nd Civil Engineer Squadron spread flowable fill concrete mix dispensed by a volumetric mobile concrete mixer as part of a simulated Rapid Airfield Damage Recovery (RADR) scenario during Exercise Swift Saber 25 at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, April 25, 2025. Flowable fill, used as a base layer for the repairs made during RADR, needs only 15 minutes to set before the top layer of rapid-set concrete can be laid down, making it ideal for quick flightline repairs. Exercises like Swift Saber 25 strengthen the 52 Fighter Wing’s warfighting capabilities by validating Agile Combat Employment concepts such as rapid threat response, dispersed operations, and mission generation in contested environments.
