Mosel harvest
A volunteer helper carries a bucket up a vineyard slope in Piesport. A group of about 50 U.S. members from Ramstein helped a local vintner harvest the Mosel gold Riesling grapes in Piesport, Oct. 19, 2013. Over the past weeks, visitors to the Mosel area were able to see many trucks and tractors parked on the steep Mosel wine slopes, where people worked hard to harvest the grapes. Within one hour and thirty minutes the American group was able to collect the amount of grapes for approximatly 1.000 bottles of Mosel wine. Once the work was completed, the local vintner thanked the American helpers with a lunch and wine tasting. The Mosel Riesling grape harvest was just completed in the Mosel valley.
