Silent auction raises money for charity

U.S. Air Force Airmen and their families view items for sale during a silent auction in Club Eifel at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, May 30, 2014. More than 400 people visited the auction hosted by the base's First Sergeant Council. This is the second silent auction put on by the group — the first was last year with the proceeds going to Operation Warmheart, a charity which provides support for service members during financial emergencies. This year's event raised more than $16,000 for both Operation Warmheart and the Fisher House Foundation, an organization that offers free housing to military families who are visiting their injured service member in hospitals.
