Keep helmet safety in, on your mind
June 12, 2014, marks the last day of school for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools here. As part of the U.S. Air Force’s Critical Days of Summer, 52nd Fighter Wing leaders are encouraging Spangdahlem Air Base parents to make sure their children are wearing helmets when riding a bike. In 2012, there were 58 pedal cyclist fatalities for children 14 years old and younger, according to a traffic safety fact sheet released in 2014 from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
