Fuel: No flying without the good stuff

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Airman 1st Class Darren Albrecht, 52nd Logistics Readiness Squadron fuel laboratory technician, puts a precise amount of JP-8 into a separatory funnel which he will add another carefully measured of demineralized water. This method is used to test the fuel system icing inhibitor level. The FSII prevents the fuel from freezing when aircraft fly at high altitudes. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Tammie Moore)
