Fuel: No flying without the good stuff
SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – Airman 1st Class Darren Albrecht, 52nd Logistics Readiness Squadron fuel laboratory technician, finishes shaking fuel and water together for five minutes. Water is added to the fuel for this test because it traps the fuel system icing inhibitor, pulling it out of the fuel. After two minutes he will learn the FSII level on a refratometer.
