52nd CMS Airman receives Bronze Star
SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, GERMANY – Col. Lee T. Wight 52nd Fighter Wing commander, presents a Bronze Star to Chief Master Sgt. William J. Brown, 52nd Component Maintenance Squadron propulsion systems manager, during the 52nd Maintenance Group Unit Compliance Inspection call June 1, 2009 at the base fitness center. Chief Brown was awarded the medal for achievement as superintendent of the 451st Air Expeditionary Group at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, from Dec. 31, 2007 to May 7, 2008. While exposed to repeated Taliban rocket attacks, Chief Brown led more than 500 Airmen in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He fostered vital rapport with command sergeants major from numerous units to resolve issues and enforce standards for more than 13,000 Joint and Coalition forces.
