SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Members of the 606th Air Control Squadron stop their convoy and prepare to enter a ‘hostile’ territory near Gerolstein, Germany, Aug. 3 during a combat readiness training field exercise held Aug. 3-7. The purpose of the class is to show squadron members how to defend a deployed site without outside support, building on the 606th ACS mission to be self-sufficient. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt.
