JOINT BASE BALAD, Iraq --Senior Airman Mark Birrenkott, 22nd Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Unit, inspects an optical and gimbble attached to a sniper pod for scratches and wear at the flightline here Sep. 3. The sniper pod, when attached to an F-16 Fighting Falcon or F-15 Eagle, is designed to record imagery for reconnaissance. The 22nd AMU is deployed from Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany.
