Holiday postal schedule: Get gifts on time

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Staff Sgt. Robert Fernandez, 52nd Communications Squadron postal service clerk, writes a box number on a package sent to the post office here Oct. 31. With high postal traffic expected during the holidays, the Military Postal Service Agency has issued a list of cut-off dates to get packages sent out on time. Packages being sent from the states to any APO, FPO and DPO address must be sent by the following dates to arrive in time for Christmas: The express mailing date is Dec. 17, first class and priority mailing dates are Dec. 3 for contingency locations and Dec. 10 for all others; PAL parcel dates are Dec. 1 for contingency locations and Dec. 3 for all others; SAM parcel dates are Nov. 26 and parcel post dates are Nov. 12. Mail being sent to APO/FPO and DPO addresses must include the receiving persons full name, unit, PSC and box numbers, APO/ FPO or DPO location and zip code.
