Fasching Events

SPANGDAHLEM, Germany — A Harlequin spreads confetti at the 2011 Fasching parade in Trier. Many local communities will host Fasching parades Feb. 16 until Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22, with most of them taking place Feb. 19 or Feb. 20, which is “Rose Monday.” For these parades, everyone is advised to bring bags to collect the sweets the “Fasching fools” hand out or throw into the crowd. Although it is not a must, some people dress up to view a parade. Music and entertainment typically follows. (Courtesy photo/Released)
