National Museum of Military History in Diekirch brings history alive
DIERKIRCH, Luxembourg - This diorama scene, located at the National Museum of Military History in Diekirch, Luxembourg, shows two U.S. Army medics giving plasma to a wounded service member of the 5th U.S. Infantry Division "Red Diamond" during the Jan. 18-20, 1945 Sauer river crossing operations in Diekirch. A series of large-scale life-size dioramas, thematic exhibits, weaponry, vehicles, countless original photographs and many personal artifacts tell the story of the liberation by the United States and allied forces of Luxembourg in 1944-45 as well as the history of the “Battle of the Bulge,” at the museum.
