SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – U.S. Army Capt. Alicia Gehling, U.S. Army Medical Department Europe Regional Veterinary Command Spangdahlem Veterinary Clinic officer in charge, checks the temperature of a cat inside the clinic as part of an initial vitals check here April 20. The clinic cares for Department of Defense privately owned pets and military working dogs with services ranging from nail clippings to elective surgeries such as dental work, spaying and neutering. Spangdahlem AB members are required to register their pets with the clinic within 14 days of the pet’s arrival on station.
