Pilgrims travel to view ‘Holy Robe’
TRIER, Germany – Members of the U.S. Air Force and German military wait in line to view the “Holy Robe,” a tunic reportedly worn by Jesus, at the Trier Dom Cathedral here April 25. More than 50 Airmen from Spangdahlem Air Base attended an international soldier’s worship in commemoration of the 45th annual Day of Peace before beginning their pilgrimage to view the robe. The Day of Peace was instituted by Pope Paul VI in 1968 to promote hope and peace throughout each year. (U.S. Air Force photo by 2nd Lt. Stephani Schafer/Released)
