Local Polish students visit Powidz AB
POWIDZ AIR BASE, Poland — U.S. Air Force Col. Matthew Willis, U.S. Embassy air attaché to Poland, briefs Zespol school district students. The students were visiting Powidz Air Base, Poland as part of a community outreach day, March 8, 2013. More than 60 U.S. military personnel from the 37th Airlift Squadron were in Poland in support of Exercise Screaming Eagle V. This is the first official exercise hosted by Aviation Detachment 1, 52nd Operations Group in support of a bilateral agreement signed in 2011 by the Prime Minster of Poland to increase interoperability between the United States and Poland as NATO allied members.
