Spangdahlem upgrades radar system
SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Reed and Senior Airman Ryan Warner, both air traffic controllers from the 52nd Operations Support Squadron, practice on the new Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System, an all-digital system that integrates certified weather radar capabilities and a constant sight picture. The system replaces the aging radar system that was based on 1980s technology. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Nathanael Callon/Released)
