    An Airman assigned to the 52nd Force Support Squadron saved the life of a 2-year-old local national girl in the summer of 2020. His quick actions earned him both an Air Force Commendation Medal and a Red Cross Certificate of Merit during a ceremony at the 52nd Wing Headquarters Jan. 13, 2021.

  • Saber medics recognized during National Nurses Week

    Every year, nurses around the world are honored and celebrated during National Nurses Week, an observance that begins May 6 and ends on May 12, the birthday of the “mother of modern nursing,” Florence Nightingale. At the 52nd Medical Group, nurses and medical technicians work tirelessly to ensure the continued well-being of Saber Nation and are being recognized by the annual event.
  • Spangdahlem Safety office introduces Chainbreaker Award

    The 52nd Fighter Wing Safety office recently implemented an award program to recognize individuals who make an outstanding contribution to the safety of the community. According to Lt. Col. Shaun Bellamy, 52nd FW chief of safety, the “Chainbreaker” Award – named for the “breaker” of the chain of events that often leads to a mishap – honors those who advance the Saber safety culture and highlights their contribution to the mission.
