Buechel wins 2014 Hennessy Award Published April 22, 2015 By Airman 1st Class Luke Kitterman 52 Fighter Wing Public Affairs SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- The Eagle's Nest Dining Facility at Buechel Air Base, Germany, recently earned the 2014 John L. Hennessy Food Service Award for best small site dining facility within U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa. According to an article posted on the Air Force link, the award is based on the entire scope of an installation's food service program. This includes customer and employee relations, safety and training awareness, food quality, management effectiveness, and force readiness support. For Buechel, this award was not an overnight victory. The team continued a recipe for success that has earned them this honor four out of the last five years. "The atmosphere we have here at the Eagle's Nest is incredible," said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Juan Pineda, 702nd Munitions Support Squadron mission support flight superintendent. "The German nationals who work alongside our motivated Airmen make a diverse and talented team. Our facility is top notch, but it was really the dedicated people here that won this award."
