US, Poland begin Aviation Detachment Rotation 15-4 Published Sept. 9, 2015 By 2nd Lt. Meredith Mulvihill 52nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs KRZESINY, Poland -- Four F-16 squadrons and over 370 Polish and American Airmen began operations as part of Aviation Detachment Rotation 15-4 Monday, Sep. 7 in Poland. Hosted by the U.S. Aviation Detachment at Łask Air Base, Poland, the exercise is designed to help maintain joint readiness and build interoperability capabilities between the Polish and U.S. Air Forces. It is the fourth exercise hosted by the detachment this year, and is projected to be one of the largest since the Av-Det stood up. The main portion of the exercise will run until Sept.18, 2015, and include personnel and equipment in three locations around Poland. Participants in Av-Det Rotation 15-4 include six F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft from the 480th Fighter Squadron at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, eight F-16s from the 176th Fighter Squadron, Wisconsin Air National Guard and F-16s from two Polish Air Force Fighter Squadrons from Łask and Krzesiny Air Bases, Poland. The 606th Air Control Squadron, also from Spangdahlem, is working alongside a Polish Control and Reporting Center to provide tactical air control for the exercise from Krzesiny and Nadarzyce Air Bases, Poland.
