More than 800 Airmen and community members attended an all call led by the U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa commander and command chief in Hangar 1 at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, Dec. 3, 2015.

U.S. Air Force Gen. Frank Gorenc, USAFE and AFAFRICA commander, and U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. James Davis, USAFE and AFFRICA command chief, spoke on their appreciation toward the base, the importance of priorities and the importance of air power.

"Spangdahlem has answered the call," Gorenc said. "It's unbelievable what you have accomplished here and I couldn't be any prouder. Keep inspiring to our vision of the U.S. Air Force: The world's best air force, powered by Airmen, fueled by innovation. I have absolute confidence that this force we have right now can continue that into the future."

Gorenc acknowledged that to make this vision a reality it would mean being able to balance priorities and sacrifices.

"I want you to have priorities," Gorenc said. "I want to seek them out and give us ideas to help support your priorities. However, I want you to remember we have a mission to do. There will come a time where I will ask you put your priorities aside and complete the mission. This isn't a job. This is a profession of arms that we are operating in to support our country. I believe in a balanced Airman. A balanced Airman is a productive Airman and that's how the mission gets done."

Davis concluded the all call following Goernc but was momentarily interrupted by the sound of F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft flying over the hangar. Davis welcomed the noise as a reminder.

"It's good to be around air power," Davis said. "It's good to hear that noise constantly going across, disrupting everything you do, but reminding you of why we're here. It's reminds you of what your purpose is. It reminds you that you have freedom and you're providing it for those around you and back home."
