Saber chief-selects carry on in echelon Published Feb. 16, 2016 By Staff Reports 52nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- A chief master sergeant and six senior master sergeants, all from the 52nd Fighter Wing, received recognition upon their selection to promotion to the top one percent of the Air Force enlisted ranks during a Chief Master Sergeant Recognition Ceremony at Club Eifel Feb. 12, 2016. The Spangdahlem Chiefs Group hosted the ceremony in recognition of their newest members, who became aware of their pending promotions Dec. 17, 2015. The Air Force selected 525 senior master sergeants from a pool of 2,521 across the Air Force for promotion, representing a 20.83 percent selection rate. Chief master sergeants represent the top one percent of the enlisted force structure, as mandated by the U.S. Congress. Chief Master Sergeant-Select Joshua Tidwell, 52nd Logistics Readiness Squadron who do not believe that shrewdness, cunning, and hardheadedness are the best qualities for winning success; who are not ashamed or afraid to stand for the truth when it is unpopular, who can say "no" with emphasis, although all the world is saying "yes."
