Get ready for a fantastic night of free entertainment! Tops In Blue, the premiere entertainment showcase of the U.S. Air Force, will perform its 2007 edition of Tops In Blue musical show entitled "The Fly By" at Spangdahlem Air Base Oct. 30 in the fitness center; doors open at 6:15 p.m.

"It's a high-energy musical show that is also educational," Tom Edwards, Chief of Air Force Entertainment, said. "It's a story told through the music our Airmen and their families grew up playing and singing, punctuated with our proud Air Force history."

The 2007 edition of Tops In Blue, "The Fly By," commemorates 60 years of Air Force history through a high-tech multimedia extravaganza. Audiences will be taken back as the show visually and musically winds its way through six decades of history with historical footage laced with songs from each era. Songs like, "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" by the Andrews Sisters and hits from Glenn Miller's Band become the musical backdrop for our emerging branch of service. As the Fifties move to the Sixties, Dick Clark brings Airmen's favorite music to life with songs like "Where the Boys Are" by Connie Francis, Chubby Checker's "The Twist and smooth Motown sounds from groups like The Temptations and The Supremes. Then off to the pop culture of the 1960s and 1970s as Tops In Blue belts out songs from country music legends like Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn. Audiences will groove along into the raging craze of the 1970s with the retro sounds of "Disco Inferno," "Car Wash" and "If My Friends Could See Me Now." Mirroring the sign of the times, the late 1980s songs like "Fantasy" and the "Star Wars Theme Song" highlight the new technological age of the Air Force.

Tops In Blue features music from almost every genre and decade, as spectators are reminded of the music of each era Airmen enjoyed.

The show concludes with a heartfelt patriotic finale that not only honors the men and women who have served with the song "We'll Be There," but also pays a special tribute to military families with Tops In Blue's rendition of "They Also Serve."
