Monica Desjardins Unit: 52nd Aerospace Medicine Squadron Duty title: Flight chief, aerospace physiology Hometown: El Paso, Texas Years in service: 17 years Why joined: I joined because my father and favorite uncle were in the Air Force and I thought it was great opportunity for a stable income and education. Family: I have an active duty husband, Master Sgt. Matthew Desjardins from the 52nd Comptroller Squadron, and three children Richard, 15, Crystal, 13 and Matthew, 7. Hobbies: I love reading, watching movies, going sight-seeing and taking as many trips as possible while stationed in Germany. Favorite aspect of job: I like helping people in any way I can, through safety investigations, briefings or shop visits. It is always nice to be able to help people have either a better or safer work environment. Most memorable Air Force experience: My most memorable experience in the Air Force was in basic training; all the expectations and what I wanted to achieve were in that first day in the military.
