A&FRC offers career assistance Published Dec. 11, 2007 By Valencia Wright Airman & Family Readiness Center SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- The Airman & Family Readiness Center is working to help Sabers enhance their ability to reach their short term and long term career goals. The Spangdahlem Air Base A&FRC offers a variety of employment classes and tool to Department of Defense ID card holders. The ABCs of Employment provides comprehensive information and a one-stop orientation to local employment. Topics include: working on or off-base, current vacancies and the application process as well as recruitment information. In addition, the Federal Employment class teaches students how to navigate through the system, how to apply for a federal job and tips and techniques on resume writing. To learn about local job openings without leaving the comfort of your home, join the A&FRC career network. Members will receive e-mail notification announcements about positions directly to their home email inbox. The A&FRC library and resource room offers computer and internet access. Employment books and videos are available to check-out covering everything from resume writing and interviewing to negotiating a salary. However, individuals who aren't looking for employment but may be interested in volunteering to serve their community, meet new people, be a role model, learn new skills or get free on-the job training from various organizations on and off base.
