SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany - The Manderscheid Castles, located a short distance from Spangdahlem Air Base, represent Germany’s colorful past. The Manderscheid castles were used by Trier and Luxembourg as guard posts for several centuries during territorial disputes. Manderscheid is also home to an annual medieval festival. SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – The Roman arena located in Trier, is steeped by centuries of Roman games and Gladiator battles; a popular pastime during the Roman era.
