Steve Zarecki, Detachment 17, F-16 avionics instructor, has been named the 52nd Fighter Wing's Top Saber Performer for the week of Feb. 1-7. Name: Staff Sgt. Years in service: 11 years Why joined: I joined the Air Force because I wanted to help protect and serve my country. Family: My wife, Kerstin, and daughters, Devon, Chenoa, and twins Chandra and Chantal Hobbies: Playing with my children is a full time hobby. I also like outdoor activities like scuba diving, hiking and camping. Favorite aspect of job: I love being an instructor. It's the satisfaction of knowing that we help foster the careers of our students. Most memorable Air Force experience: A former student stopped me on the flightline one day, weeks after a class ended, to tell me how he used the things he learned in my class to troubleshoot/repair a jet. That's something I will never forget.
