Two Spangdahelm Airmen earn AFA Pitsenbarger Awards Published April 8, 2008 SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Two Spangdahlem Airmen are recipients of this year's Pitsenbarger Award. The Air Force Association's Pitsenbarger Award provides $500 grants to top enlisted U.S. Air Force people who are graduating from the Community College of the Air Force, and who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree. The grants coincide with the annual CCAF graduation ceremonies. This year, the Spangdahlem Education Center awarded two such grants to Spangdahlem Airmen. Staff Sgt. Peter J. Mauro, 52nd Security Forces Squadron and Master Sgt. Norman L. Hill, 52nd Equipment Maintenance Squadron, were selected as the 2008 recipients of this award. Sergeant Mauro is pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology at American Military University while Sergeant Hill is working toward a bachelor's degree in history at the University of Maryland's European Division.
