Top Saber Performer Published April 23, 2008 By Staff Reports 52nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs SPANGDHALEM AIR BASE, Germany -- First Lt. Chris High, 22nd Fighter Squadron F-16 pilot, has been named the 52nd Fighter Wing's Top Saber Performer for the week of April 25-May 1. Name: 1st Lt. Chris High Unit: 22nd Fighter Squadron Duty title: F-16 pilot Hometown: Burnsville, Minn. Years in service: Three years Why joined: The reason I joined is simple: "Top Gun." Seriously though, I got a world-class education and I get to serve my country doing something I love. But Top Gun was awesome. Family: I just got engaged to my beautiful fiancée Heather. Hobbies: I like music and movies just like anyone else, but being stationed in Europe, I'm trying to see as many places as I can and sample all the great food and drink. Favorite aspect of job: First, I get to work and serve with the best people in the world. Second, there is never a dull moment. Whether it's new tactics, or the latest Information Assurance Training, there's always something new and exciting. Most memorable Air Force experience: Sometimes it seems like there are so many good times they just blend into a haze, but if I had to pick one, it would be ferrying a jet across the Atlantic. Flying into the sunrise was incredible; operating in the survival suit was certainly unforgettable.
