Spangdahlem Sabers have a choice Published Aug. 11, 2008 By Staff Sgt. Heather M. Norris 52nd Fighter Wing Public Affairs SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- The Mosel Dining Facility recognized the needs of customers and launched the new "Grab and Go" program Aug 1, 2008. The program is operational all day, every day providing a much needed service previously unavailable and offers a selection of eight meals to choose from that are prepared daily. Until this program began, patrons were only authorized to go to the dining facility during normal operating hours. The recent change has been positively received by DFAC customers, said Tech. Sgt. Britt Yale, 52nd Force Support Squadron, Mosel Dining Facility production manager. At overseas locations, the selection offered to swing- and night-shift workers is limited. If an individual does not bring a meal or plan accordingly, the only alternative available is the 24-hour shoppette. The dining facility is the sole source for Airmen on meal cards unless they are willing to pay out of pocket for meals. Many career fields don't have hours that allow Airmen to use the dining facility for provisions. "The new program is an excellent idea because it is quick and convenient," said Airman Ian Bowers, 52nd Equipment Maintenance Squadron Munitions Systems Apprentice.
