Twenty one officers and senior non-commissioned officers from the 52nd Munitions Maintenance Group, Spangdahlem Air Base, competed in a ropes course filled with multiple puzzles and obstacles. The challenges enable individuals to overcome personal limitations and help build team communications and problem solving.

"The ropes course brings out the best in individuals and team efforts" said Lt. Col. Brian Dubroff.

The 52nd Force Support Squadron provided all the resources for the course, and Michael Kirsch, Outdoor Recreation and Equipment, along with his team of facilitators, provided insightful feedback for the teams to improve effectiveness.

"After the course, the leadership team cherished the memories through the weekend as their sore bodies recovered from the challenges, and are more prepared to lead their unit to greater success in the future" Colonel Dubroff said.

"Mentally and physically challenging events help break down barriers and bring people together quickly to work as a cohesive team," said Maj. Graves, a participant of the course. He also said the course was good for team building, and each team member can benefit by learning about the strengths and weaknesses of both themselves and those they work with.

The course does have a few risks involved including heights and obstacles that require some strength and flexibility. To schedule a ropes course contact the Outdoor Recreation and Equipment at DSN 452-7170.
