Antivirus software can now be downloaded at home Published Feb. 4, 2011 SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Air Force Portal users may now download home-use antivirus software from a non-.mil computer, including a home computer. The Defense Department's Antivirus Software License Agreement with McAfee and Symantec allows active DoD employees, not including contractors, to utilize antivirus software for home use. Home use of the antivirus products protects personal computers and also potentially lessens the threat of employees bringing malicious logic into work and compromising DoD networks. Air Force home users will find antivirus products to support Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Mac operating systems. Users can contact their client support administrator for a copy of home use antivirus software. If a CSA is not available, or does not have copies of the antivirus software for home use, users may download software from the download portal page.
