Name: Staff Sgt. Brian Amos

Unit: 52nd Logistics Readiness Squadron

Duty title: Fuels information manager

Hometown: Oceanside, Calif.; Canon City, Colo.; and Lexington, Ky.

Years in Service: Eight years

Why joined: I was bored with the information-technology industry and needed to see more of the world. I walked into the recruiter's office and saw pictures of him on the London Bridge, at the Sphinx in Cairo, in Rome and more. That did it for me. Also, the job security and education benefits sealed the deal.

Family: My lovely wife, Sarah, and my soon-to-be 7-year-old son, Kylan. Happy birthday!

Hobbies: I play guitar, travel when possible and dabble in the subtle art of videogames.

Favorite aspect of job: I currently enjoy seeing the managerial side of my job. After spending six years on the flight line, the folks here at Spangdahlem have given me an opportunity to apply my strengths and utilize what I've learned from the supervision during my time as an Airman.

Most memorable Air Force experience: Swimming in the Dead Sea, Israel, and a close second would be saluting U.S. President Barack Obama.

How do you make responsible choices: As an NCO, you are sworn to live the Air Force core values. It may sound cheesy, but I never forget the first and most important core value, Integrity. Also, I take everything good from the supervisors I've had and make it my own.
