SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- Text messaging while driving is not only dangerous, but also illegal for service members and their family members according to U.S. Army in Europe Regulation 190-1. Violations of this regulation will result in a mandatory seven-day suspension of the user’s U.S. Forces in Europe driver’s license in addition to three points assessed on their license, which is permanently placed on the cardholder’s driving record.
