Name: Staff Sgt. Christopher T. Perez

Unit:
726th Air Mobility Squadron

Duty title: Combat readiness, resources plans and programs administrator

Hometown:
Uvalde, Texas

Years in Service: Four and a half years

Why joined: My grandfather,"Papi," was always fond of the military but never had the opportunity to serve. Growing up, I naturally gravitated toward the military and had a huge respect for service men and women. After high school, when the opportunity to give back to my country presented itself, I jumped at it with hopes of honoring my grandfather en route to a brighter future.

Family: My wife, RoxAnne; and our precious baby boy, Zyon.

Hobbies: Spending time with my family, running, football, and watching any and every movie there is to see.

Favorite aspect of job: Combat readiness and resources oversees 30 readiness programs for our unit; as a result, there is always something new to deal with every day.

Most memorable Air Force experience: There have been so many in my short time in the military, but if I had to pick, they would be making senior airman below-the-zone, and making staff sergeant my first time testing. Being able to literally control the outcome of my results, rate of progress, and see all the hard work and dedication pay off first-hand is a special feeling.

How do you make responsible choices: If I have to think about it more than once, then it's probably not the right path to take.
