Name:
Staff Sgt. Jason E. Ermish

Unit: 52nd Fighter Wing Protocol

Duty title: NCO in charge of wing protocol

Hometown: Seattle

Years in Service: Eight years

Why joined: To support my family and further my education.

Family: Wife, Stephanie; son, Jaden; and daughter, Alexia

Hobbies: Spending time with friends and family, going new places and watching movies.

Favorite aspect of job:
I enjoy the fact that the protocol office gives me the chance to work with different sections from all around the base. Be it at the flight level with a retirement ceremony all the way up to coordinating a four star general visit, the Protocol Office works hard to ensure that all base functions are conducted flawlessly and adhere to the proper Air Force regulations and standards.

Most memorable Air Force experience: I would have to say that my most memorable Air Force experience would have to be when I was deployed as a vehicle maintenance technician in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. We were conducting convoy duties in Iraq, when I received an Army Commendation Medal and an Army Achievement Medal for my actions. It was a great honor to receive these medals.

How do you make responsible choices: I rely on my core values, and the leadership of those appointed over me. I see the product of their choices and tell myself "that's where I want to be someday," and then it usually takes me down the right path.
