Name:
U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Sondrea Faulkner

Unit: 703rd Munitions Support Squadron

Duty title:
Operations NCO in charge and unit fitness program manager

Hometown: Prattville, Ala.

Years in Service: Eight years

Why joined: One of my brothers was my inspiration. I joined the Air Force because I wanted to have a structured lifestyle with an opportunity of gaining exposure to the world. And, of course, enjoy the available benefits -- tuition assistance, medical, financial stability and traveling/learning about different cultures.

Family: I'm my mommy's little lady. I have five older brothers and one older sister.

Hobbies: I enjoy home interior designing and pampering myself. I've also grown to love CrossFit.

Favorite aspect of job: My favorite aspect of the job is certainly customer service. I love being able to impact someone positively with hopes that they'll do the same for someone in return.

Most memorable Air Force experience: My most memorable Air Force experience would have to be getting accepted as a military training instructor. It's a job I've wanted to do since I first joined in 2004. I'm so thrilled about reporting to duty soon!

How do you make responsible choices:
I'm a logical thinker; I usually analyze and accept all the known consequences prior to making any decision. As an adolescent, I had many responsibilities. My mother worked two jobs, so coming into adulthood was a fairly easy transition. I also have an amazing support system, my family and friends, to assist me when the times are tough.
