SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany – U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Jared Egia and Airman 1st Class Richard Adamson, 52nd Civil Engineer Squadron structural technicians, demolish a metal shack on the flightline June 6, 2013. As part of a runway reinforcement operation, Egia and his team are removing this structure and three others, which house an airfield arresting system used to rapidly decelerate an aircraft as it lands.
