Sabers earn CCAF degrees

SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- In addition to the demands of their professional careers and personal lives, more than 70 Saber Airmen earned their Community College of the Air Force diplomas in 2013.

Col. David Julazadeh, 52nd Fighter Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Matthew Grengs, 52nd FW command chief, handed certificates to 36 of the graduates during a ceremony at the base theater Nov. 12.

"The best way you can prepare yourself for the future is through education," Julazadeh said to the graduates. "This is a great achievement in your life, and I'm very proud of you all."

Master Sgt. Robert Lombardi, Jr., 701st Munitions Support Squadron first sergeant, served as the ceremony's guest speaker and advised graduates to set goals, stay focused and that they would ultimately be successful.

"Graduates, your time is now--stay focused and you will be successful," Lombardi said. "No matter what happens in life, no matter how hard the goal is to accomplish, if it is something you want and desire bad enough, it will happen and you will be successful."
