The 52nd Fighter Wing held the Spangdahlem National Prayer Breakfast March 14, 2014, at the base chapel.

The 52nd FW Chaplain Corps sponsored the event, themed "Prayer for the Future," which is based off of the National Prayer Breakfast held at the U.S. Capitol since 1953.

"This event is to bring people together to exercise our freedom of religion - one of our precious, priceless freedoms," said Capt. Philip Redmond, 52nd FW chaplain.

More than 40 Spangdahlem community members in attendance, comprised of many different types of faiths, gathered under one roof for a 45-minute ceremony, food and fellowship together.

"I think it's important in serving in the military to be 'one team, one fight,' both in serving together and praying together," said Senior Airman James Gainey, 606th Air Control Squadron command and control battle management operator from Evergreen, N.C.
