Fun for all can be had at the historic Burgenfest 24th annual medieval castle festival Aug. 30-31, 2008. Two castles, Niederburg and Oberburg, along with the tourney field, Turnierwiese, will come to life providing a glimpse into the Middle Ages.

Attendees are entertained by jousting tournaments, fire-eaters, jugglers, jesters, storytelling, musical concerts, minnesingers and fireworks. In addition to food and games, there will be an artisan market demonstrating many trades and skills from the era. Puppet shows, kinder games and a children's jousting tournament are available for the kids.

A free shuttle service from designated parking areas in Manderscheid and Pantenburg to the event area is provided. Children under 12 can enjoy the festival for free while ages 12-17 pay 4 euro and adults pay 7euro. Those in medieval attire pay 4 euro.
