‘Spouse It Up!’ Published April 27, 2009 By the Airman & Family Readiness Center SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- The life of a military family is one of unique challenges and military spouses continue to meet them with grace and strength. The Spangdahlem Air Base community will take a day to pause and acknowledge the significant contributions of spouses on Military Spouse Appreciation Day, May 8, 2009. The Airman and Family Readiness Center has planned an entire day of festivities for military spouses as a 'thank you' for the service and sacrifices they make every day for their spouses and the country. An array of activities designed to relax, inform and inspire spouses runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each attendee has an opportunity to be pampered, win prizes, enjoy free food and learn about benefits the Saber Team and the surrounding community offer. Activities include: · A health issues panel presentation and discussion on population health · A hot wax hand treatment · Instruction on relaxation techniques · A massage · An arts and crafts project · A Tai Chi class There will be raffles throughout the day for great prizes.
