Airman killed in vehicle accident Published May 23, 2009 SPANGDAHLEM AIR BASE, Germany -- A 52nd Fighter Wing Airman assigned to the 703rd Munitions Support Squadron at Volkel Air Base, The Netherlands was killed in a multiple vehicle accident while operating a motorcycle in the town of Zeeland, just outside of Volkel AB at 3:30 p.m. today. Emergency crews responded and the Airman was flown by helicopter to Nijmegen hospital where he was pronounced dead. The 52nd FW sends heartfelt condolences to the deceased Airman's family, as well as to all of the members of the 703rd MUNSS. The name of the deceased is being withheld until notification of next of kin. The cause of the accident is under investigation and further details will follow as they become available.
